I wanted to paint the reflections of Red Mountain in Crystal Lake but I changed my mind when I saw this Ring-Necked Duck with her ducklings. Instead, I painted them swimming through the reflections of Red Mountain.

Capturing a moment, a mood, a thought is what motivates Joan Wolbier to create art. She works with a variety of media, always wanting to satisfy her curiosity and to challenge herself as a visual artist. During her career, Joan has studied figure drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and book arts. Her favorite medium is watercolor and she loves to paint landscapes, plants, and wildlife.
