We had planned to go back country skiing, but we did not plan for the weather. As we started out, the clouds gathered over Longs Peak and looked more and more threatening every minute. We decided to come back to ski another time when the weather was more settled.

Capturing a moment, a mood, a thought is what motivates Joan Wolbier to create art. She works with a variety of media, always wanting to satisfy her curiosity and to challenge herself as a visual artist. During her career, Joan has studied figure drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and book arts. Her favorite medium is watercolor and she loves to paint landscapes, plants, and wildlife. She recently published a book of her paintings titled "Painting Colorado: A Watercolor Journal."
