Out skiing, the sun was shining, the light glistening on the snow’s surface contrasting with the deep blue shadows, those shadows reflecting the clear blue sky. And it is always a treat to see the tracks left by a coyote as it wanders through the Colorado winter landscape.
Capturing a moment, a mood, a thought is what motivates Joan Wolbier to create art. She works with a variety of media, always wanting to satisfy her curiosity and to challenge herself as a visual artist. During her career, Joan has studied figure drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and book arts. Her favorite medium is watercolor and she loves to paint landscapes, plants, and wildlife. She recently published a book of her paintings titled "Painting Colorado: A Watercolor Journal." Both hardback and paperback copies of the book are available for purchase from Joan or through Blurb (blurb.com). To purchase original paintings, contact Joan through her email.

This is so peacefully subtle, and I love the way you painted the icy, snow buried creek.
