I was fortunate to be able to spend a week at Caribou Ranch Open Space as the artist in residence. This painting is based on one of the plein air sketches I did during that residency.
Capturing a moment, a mood, a thought is what motivates Joan Wolbier to create art. She works with a variety of media, always wanting to satisfy her curiosity and to challenge herself as a visual artist. During her career, Joan has studied figure drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and book arts. Her favorite medium is watercolor and she loves to paint landscapes, plants, and wildlife. She recently published a book of her paintings titled "Painting Colorado: A Watercolor Journal."
