Capturing a moment, a mood, a thought is what motivates Joan Wolbier to create art. She works with a variety of media, always wanting to satisfy her curiosity and to challenge herself as a visual artist. During her career, Joan has studied figure drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and book arts. Her favorite medium is watercolor and she loves to paint landscapes, plants, and wildlife. The salt technique in the sand worked beautifully, adding just the right texture. I liked that I had to look twice to see the birds, as their feathers are close in color to the clouds. The subtle contrast creates a nce effect.
