The snow-covered trail to Fern Lake was pretty easy to hike until we reached the lake when deep snow prevented us from going further. The mood of the landscape was special because of the soft light on the lake and the trees and mountains were covered with snow.
Capturing a moment, a mood, a thought is what motivates Joan Wolbier to create art. She works with a variety of media, always wanting to satisfy her curiosity and to challenge herself as a visual artist. During her career, Joan has studied figure drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and book arts. Her favorite medium is watercolor and she loves to paint landscapes, plants, and wildlife. She recently published a book of her paintings titled "Painting Colorado: A Watercolor Journal."
